Five Westminster Nurses to be Married this June

The Nurse Matrimony Center of Denver, Colorado, is pleased to announce that five Westminster nurses will be married in June, 2016. And it is also pleased to announce that this report, like the one before it, is being sponsored by Westminster Lawn Care Services (

All five of the nurses presently work at Lutheran Hospital in nearby Wheat Ridge, but they are residents of Westminster.

Two of the nurses have lived in Westminster all their lives. Kristin Smith, who was a cheerleader in high school, and also the Mardi Gras Queen, was born in Westminster. And Mary Ellen Whalen, who was president of her student body in high school, and an honors graduate in nursing from the University of Colorado, was born in Boulder, but moved to Westminster before she was one.

Cynthia Sanchez was born in Chicago, but she came to Denver to attend college, and after she graduated she moved to Westminster, which she says is the nicest place that she has ever lived in. What she likes most about Westminster, she says, is the weather. It’s almost always sunny and warm in Westminster, she says, even during the winter. Although it’s true that sometimes clouds move in and rain and snow fall, she adds, they never stay long; very quickly the sun always comes back out.

Jennifer Cody was raised in the San Francisco bay area, where she attended Bishop O’Dowd High School, and later the University of San Francisco. She first came to Denver on a ski trip, she reports, and fell in love with the place at first sight. She moved from San Francisco to Westminster just weeks after she graduated from college, and she has been here ever since.

Harriet Mangiapane grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, but she often travelled to the Colorado Rockies during her childhood. And after she graduated from Arizona State University she moved to Westminster, and has been here since then.

The five nurses reported to the Nurse Matrimony Center that they are all very happy to be getting married.
